ON April 20th 2009, I will run in the 113th running of the Boston marathon as a member of Lance Armstrong's "Team Livestrong Army Runners". I've created this blog to document the experience of training for the next 18 weeks leading up to participating in one of the greatest races a runner can experience! This blog will also acknowledge all of my sponsors who donate toward my mission to benefit LiveSTRONG. I will also make mention of some "special intentions" of people who have been affected by this dreaded disease as well as dedicate training runs and races leading up to Boston.
For those who live local - I will make referrals to my "Holdum Hill" loop that consists of mile variations between 6 and 8 miles. This run basically takes me out my neighborhood, down Ruckman in Hillsdale to the end. Left on Piermont to the end, left on Rivervale Road and eventually up the hill past Holdrum School. Left on Grand (which are bigger hills than Holdum and I take different routes from Grand depending on mileage for the day. For runs of 12 miles or longer, I do the Chestnut Ridge loop which several routes eventually bring me up to CR Road in Woodcliff Lake and back down via Grand Ave.
This afternoon, I did the "Holdrum Hill" loop making a left on Fairview Ave off of Grand Ave to take me back home. I officially start training for Boston on Tuesday, so today was my "bonus day"!
Stay tuned and I hope you enjoy the ride...
